AIDS Care Treatment Services (ACTS)
In partnership with ACTS, a project within the Department of Pediatrics University of Nairobi, and other stakeholders KELIN has been able to train over 500 healthcare workers in Kakamega, Thika, Nakuru, Machakos, Mombasa and Nairobi. The training concentrates on legal ethical and human rights issues relating to paediatric HIV treatment.
Federation of Women Lawyers Kenya (FIDA)
KELIN refers cases relating to violence against women to FIDA. Likewise FIDA refers cases relating to health and human rights issues to KELIN for assistance. KELIN also partners with FIDA through the cultural structures project, referring. widows , whose cases require further legal attention while KELIN has received referral cases from FIDA for women who desire to have their cases arbitrated upon by the elders. KELIN hopes to strengthen the partnership with FIDA to facilitate the acquisition of land title deeds by the resettled widows. Further details can be found at http://www.fidakenya.org/
Law Society of Kenya (LSK)
KELIN participates in Legal Awareness weeks that are organized by the Law Society of Kenya. KELIN also partners with the LSK to provide information on health and HIV related human rights issues to its members through the Continuing Legal Education programme. National Empowerment Network of People Living with HIV & AIDS (NEPHAK)
With support from Action AID International Kenya, members of KELIN have trained the NEPHAK staff and their member organizations on the rights-based approach to programming. This is with specific focus on the right to health and access to treatment for pediatric HIV-related services. KELIN continues to provide legal support to NEPHAK and its member organizations on matters relating to health and HIV. Further details can be found at http://www.nephak.org/
Kenya Network of Women Living with HIV (KENWA)
KELIN provides capacity building, legal advice and litigation support on health and HIV-related matters to members and clients of KENWA. One of the KELI N members also serves as a board member at KENWA. Further details can be found at http://www.kenwa.org/
Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya (WOFAK)
KELIN has offered technical support to WOFAK in the conduct of a national advocacy forum on legal, ethical and human rights issues. Members of KELIN, with support from Action AID International, have trained the WOFAK staff and their partner organizations on the rights-based approach to programming. Kenya Pediatric Association (KPA)
In partnership with the Kenya Pediatric Association and other stakeholders, KELIN has trained over 328 healthcare workers in Kakamega, Thika, Nakuru, Machakos, Mombasa and Nairobi on legal ethical and human rights issues relating to pediatric HIV treatment. Kenya Medical Association (KMA)
In partnership with Kenya Medical Association through the African Regional Capacity Building network for HIV & AIDS Prevention, Treatment & Care, members of KELIN have trained 345 medical practitioners from Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania on legal ethical and human rights Issues relating to antiretroviral therapy (ARTs). Gold Star Network (GSN)
Through the Gold Star Network KELIN has trained over 200 medical practitioners in Nakuru, Mombasa, Malindi and Nairobi on legal and ethical issues relating to ARV treatment. Further details can be found at http://www.goldstar-network.org/
Nyumbani Children’s Home
KELIN provides legal support and undertakes advocacy in partnership with Nyumbani Children Home on matters affecting OVCs. KELIN has been able to offer support to Nyumbani Childrens home on the rights of OVCs, to acquire national registration documents and access property from the office of the public trustee. Kenya National Commission on Human Rights
KELIN partners with the KNCHR on the Cultural Structures project. Currently the KNCHR is working with elders in Meru on a similar project. KELIN and KHCHR also partnered in celebration of World AIDS Day and conducted a Public Forum in Meru to sensitize residents on HIV related Stigma and Discrimination. Health Policy Initiative now Policy Project
KELIN partners with HPI on the Cultural Structures project. HPI was the first organization to take on board the issues of women’s ownership and inheritance rights as an issue critical in mitigating the impact socio-economic impact of HIV and AIDS on Women.
Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Partnership with Kenya Network of HIV-Positive Teachers KENEPOTE)
KELIN has been partnering with the The TSC – AIDS Control Unit and KENEPOTE in training its membership on HIV and AIDS.
