Allan Achesa Maleche is the Executive Director with KELIN. He is responsible for the day to day running of the organization and its programmes. Mr. Maleche holds a bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi and a diploma in Gender and Human rights from the Uppsala University. He posses 5 years of work experience in the fields of HIV and AIDS Project work and 4 years work experience in the field of law and human rights, legal and ethical issues in HIV and AIDS. This experience was obtained while working for projects at the University of Nairobi, University of Washington and the firm of Rachier & Amollo Advocates.
Melba Katindi Katsivo is a Programme Officer with KELIN; responsible for Advocacy and Training. Ms. Katsivo has over 1 years work experience in the field of law having undertaken legal work at various law firms and over 2 years experience working on children’s rights issues and anti-drug use among the youth while associated with Kenya Alliance for Advancement for Children (KAACR) and Students Campaign Against Drugs (SCAD). She is a peer-counselor and a Law graduate having attained BA in Academic Law and LL.B both from Bangalore University. She has a certificate in Media Relations.
Nancy Ondeng is the Regional Project coordinator for KELIN. She co-ordinates a project that uses cultural structures to assist widows and orphans who have been disinherited in western part of Kenya reclaim their right to own and inherit property. Her work entails ensuring the planning, implementation, reviews and reporting for the project. Nancy holds a degree in Education from Moi University and has a wealth of experience and other trainings through working with other Non Governmental organizations on matters relating to Gender and human Rights. She has taught at Kisumu Girls High School, worked as a research assistant for Kenya/Netherlands Rural Domestic water Supply and Sanitation Program. She was a Resource person for Kenya Female Advisory Organization, Field officer Care International in Kenya, field officer Omega Foundation and Clients Services Manager for the Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya.
Emily Awuor is the Project assistant to the regional project coordinator of the culture structures project. She previously served as a volunteer for KELIN for period of one year, before receiving formal employment. She has substantial experience with working with community members. Ms. Awour is passionate on issues of women and children’s rights, particularly orphans and widows.
Veronicah Omunga is an Administrative Assistant with KELIN. She is responsible for providing administrative support for day to day running of the organization. Ms. Omunga has more than 5 years experience in the field of HIV & AIDS. She is currently undertaking her Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from Daystar University. She has also been trained in advocacy, human rights, sexual & reproductive health and Project Management.
Martin Muruli Namasaka‘s designation as the Communications Officer with KELIN draws from a background in Development Communication which he majored in while undertaking his Bachelors Degree at the University of Nairobi. He also holds Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism & Media Studies and is certified in NGO, FBOs & CBOs Management, Resource Mobilization, Project Planning and Management Skills.Before joining KELIN Martin has had 2 years experience as a Marketing Communications Officer. His passion for Communication developed as a Communications Intern at Royal Media Services Ltd ( HOT 96 FM ,Citizen Radio & TV).
Felister Abulwa Mutoka is an Administrative Assistant with KELIN having worked for high level firms including Kabiru & Company Advocates, Citidell International Kenya and Kates Organics Health Limited.
Miss Abulwa is currently undertaking her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management & Administration from Moi University. She also holds a Diploma in Public Relations and Customer Service.
Belice Achieng’ Odamna is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Upon admission to the bar she was engaged in private practice as an Associate Advocate in the firm of Otieno, Yogo , Ojuro & Co. Advocates in Kisumu – Kenya. It is while in Kisumu that she got engaged as a pro bono advocate for KASH ( Keeping Alive Societies’ Hope) a local NGO that deals mainly with promotion and protection of the rights of sex workers and Men having sex with men. She joins KELIN as Litigation and Legal services Officer where she provides legal advice and representation to clients who have faced discrimination based on their HIV status. She also undertakes research on reported human rights violations related to HIV. She is also a pro-bono advocate for FIDA (Federation of Women Lawyers in Kenya) giving support in the Legal Support Network which is a grouping of lawyers created for the provision of legal services, for reproductive health providers or those seeking reproductive health services.
Edgar Makona is the Planning, Research and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at KELIN. Prior to his current role, Edgar worked as an M& E Officer and Site Data Manager, with The Coptic Hope Center for Infectious Diseases- a comprehensive HAART treatment facility jointly established by the the University of Washington (UW) and Coptic Hospital in Nairobi. He also worked as a Data Analyst and M&E Officer with BARA-Africa, a continental NGO working in the areas of health and developemnt closely with its partners; NPI and CDC. He has also served as a Technical Advisor with the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Advisory Group on Innovations in Male Circumcision (MC).
Edgar holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Gender and Development Studies from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He has also been expansively trained in Monitoring and Evaluation, Research, Project Management, Political Advocacy, SRH, Computer Programming, Website Development and Statistical Softwares. He has over five years work experience in designing, developing and implementing result based M&E systems and approaches.
Tracy Nyenze is Certified Public accountant of Kenya. She is the KELIN’s Finance and Administration officer who gives Financial and logistical support to the smooth running of the organization. She holds a bachelors degree in commerce (accounting) from Daystar University, she also has a finalist certificate in certified public accountants. Tracy has more than six years experience in accounting and auditing having worked as an Auditor at Thomas and associates and thereafter Thomas Daniel and associates up to the level of an audit manager.
