A Milestone in Research Integrity: KELIN Approved as Official Research Institution in Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya

In a pivotal move towards fortifying the integrity and impact of its research initiatives, the Kenya Legal & Ethical Issues Network on HIV & AIDS (KELIN) has officially been registered as a research institution in Kenya. This milestone was recently announced by the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) during the 3rd Multi-Sectoral Conference and Exhibitions on Research, Science, Technology and Innovation held at Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya taking place from May 7-10, 2024.

This registration underscores KELIN’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of research excellence and ethical conduct in its pursuit of social justice and health equity. Moreover, the registration enhances the organization’s credibility and trustworthiness in the eyes of stakeholders, including donors, collaborators, and the communities we serve.

“I am thrilled and honored to announce that KELIN has been officially certified as a research institute! None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication and hard work of #TeamKELIN, including former staff, working alongside the communities we serve. The team’s commitment to advancing evidence-based advocacy for health-related human rights for all is truly inspiring. Let’s continue this journey together, making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.” Allan Maleche – Executive Director

In embracing this milestone, KELIN reaffirms its commitment to advancing evidence-based advocacy, policy reform, and legal empowerment initiatives aimed at achieving health and social justice for all. By strengthening its research foundations, KELIN aims to amplify the voices of the communities we serve, towards our vision of a world where health-related-human rights are respected, protected and fulfilled.
