KELIN is scheduled to conduct a training for male champions against SGBV in Homa Bay County on the 13th & 14th of March 2023.
Fronting men as champions in SGBV interventions comes at a critical moment following the launch of the Sexual and Gender Based Violence Policy in Homa Bay County on 1st of March 2023. With Homa Bay County ranked at number two nationally in SGBV cases (KDHS 2022), the training aims to contribute to the goal of gender transformative action (GTA) focusing on men who are not only the major perpetrators of GBV, but also, the power holders in families.
KELIN recognizes the influence of social norms on people’s attitudes and corresponding actions, and how these affect access to justice and health services where issues such as SGBV are prevalent.
