One of KELIN’s strategic objectives is to engage in national, regional and global partnerships in order to strengthen the rights based approach in the delivery of health services. On 5th June 2018, KELIN signed a memorandum of understanding with AIESEC in University of Nairobi which will see KELIN rotationally host AIESEC volunteers for a period of six weeks internship. The aim of this joint one year programme is to facilitate cross cultural exchanges for young professionals and ensure their growth into global minded leaders.
AIESEC is a non-governmental not-for-profit organisation established globally in 1948 with the objective of promoting youth participation and leadership. AIESEC (UON), was first established in 1978 as a platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. andIn partnering with AIESEC, KELIN is cognisant of the need to invest in and groom strong, results oriented future leaders who can steer the health sector, demand for accountability and ensure transparency in systems while tackling the issues they are passionate about.
KELIN hopes that as a result of this collaboration, the AIESEC volunteers who will be attached to the institution will be able to see that the impact of their work in real-time learn to question violations, foresee the weaknesses of state systems and become ethical transformational leaders that offer solutions to these challenges.
