KELIN Joins NEPHAK in Launching a Bold New Strategic Plan for 2024-2029

KELIN is proud to have joined NEPHAK in the launch of its forward-thinking 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, a comprehensive approach that will significantly enhance the health and well-being of communities across Kenya. The plan, which focuses on creating a conducive environment for health policy programming and strengthening institutions, is set to drive impactful, evidence-based community health interventions over the next five years.

Speaking at the launch, KELIN’s Executive Director, Allan Maleche, emphasized the importance of centering human rights in health strategies, particularly for vulnerable groups such as young people and those aging with HIV.

“At KELIN, we believe that safeguarding human rights is the foundation of any effective health intervention,” Maleche said. “This strategic plan is a powerful step forward in ensuring that the lived experiences of all community members—regardless of age—inform the policies and programs that affect their lives. Together with NEPHAK, we are committed to making sure that every voice is heard and every right is protected.”

The plan’s goals, which include expanding partnerships and diversifying resources, are aligned with KELIN’s mission to create sustainable, impactful change. By strengthening knowledge management and prioritizing evidence-based interventions, NEPHAK’s strategy is not just a plan but a call to action for all stakeholders.

KELIN is particularly excited about the plan’s focus on fostering inclusive partnerships and leveraging the experiences of those living with HIV to guide future health policies. This approach ensures that both young people and older generations are supported and their rights upheld.

As we move forward, KELIN remains committed to collaborating with NEPHAK and other partners to realize the vision of this strategic plan. We call on all stakeholders to join us in this vital work, ensuring that the health and human rights of every individual in our communities are fully protected and promoted.
