The training manual which was developed by KELIN in partnership with civil society organizations is intended to enhance CSO’s understanding and appreciation of their role in the protection and promotion of the right to health under the constitution. The manual will also enhance the capacities of CSOs in monitoring accountability in health governance and development and the protection of the public interest in relation to the right to health.
The launch will bring together representatives of various civil society organizations working on the right to health, governance, accountability, right to information, among others. Some of the participants expected at the launch include representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), the Council of Governors (CoG), the National Aids Control Council, (NACC), the National AIDS and STI Control Programme (NASCOP), United Nations Development Programme Kenya (UNDP) Kenya, The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), and the Kenya Law Reform Commission (KLRC), among others.
The stakeholders will use the launch to discuss the steps to ensure CSOs have the capacity to effectively monitor the implementation of the right to health at both the national and county levels.
