KELIN in partnership with Radio Nam Lolwe will hold a radio talk show series to create awareness. The series will take place every Friday at 11:00am from 17th February 2023 to 10th March 2023. The aim of the series is to demystify the laws around women’s land rights and to empower women to claim their rights in the face of social and peer norms that negate women rights.
The talk show series will empower the listeners on marriage, inheritance rights, land management structures, services and resources and how to use them to achieve equitable land rights; and to strengthen capacities of the listeners on challenging social norms to address the inequitable distribution of land rights among women and men.
The sessions will also be an opportunity to discuss the progressive legal frameworks regarding access to land, matrimonial property, and inheritance rights. It will additionally serve as a forum for identifying the emerging social norms issues and equitable norm that are non-discriminative.
