KELIN will conduct educational skits in Kisumu and Homa Bay counties in partnership with LAGNET Youth Group on Women Property Rights. The skits by LAGNET Youth are aimed at raising awareness on women’s property rights and also to increase knowledge of the youth on how women can access both the formal and informal justice systems through educational skits. These set of activities are a follow up from a training of the youth group on the same in 2014. After the training the participants highlighted the need to engage youth in educating the community through educational skits to discuss issues and potential solutions in relation to women property rights.

The first skit will take place on 8 March, 2015 the International Women’s day then follow up skits on 12, 13, 15, 20 and 22 March 2015 at schools in Rachuonyo, Muhoroni, Seme, Kasipul Kabondo, Nyando and Nyakach Constituencies respectively within Kisumu and Homa Bay Counties where KELIN works with elders’ structures to mediate in cases where widows and orphans have been disinherited of their rightful property to enhance access to the rightful information to community levels.

It is expected that at the end of these activities, the youth and the public around the constituencies named here in will have a better understanding of  women property rights.
