Description
The Petitioners were incarcerated under section 27 of the Public Health Act, 1921 for their failure to adhere to TB medication. The court found the practice of confining patients who defaulted in their medication in prison as a violation of the constitution and ordered the Ministry of Health to develop an isolation policy that would be used to guide the isolation of patients with infectious diseases.
