Timothy and Jessica Announcement

KELIN announced the appointment of Mr. Timothy Wafula as its Program Associate in the HIV & TB thematic area. Timothy is a young and dynamic lawyer who recently finished his training under the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law. He brings to KELIN his passion and experience in legal research, having worked as a researcher and legal associate in leading firms in the country. He is interested in learning and growing in the health and human rights field and while at KELIN will be involved in public interest litigation, public interest law, consulting, human rights, research, trainingand mentoring. He will be reporting to the Programme Manager HIV&TB.

KELIN also announced the appointment of Ms. Jessica Oluoch, who will work in the Women, Land and Property Rights thematic area as its Programme Officer. As an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Jessica has worked as a pro bono legal consultant for various organizations including MildMayInternational and Handicap International. While at these institutions she doubled up as a peer educator, where she mentored young adolescent girls on their health. Jessica is not new to women’s rights as she has been engaged in community outreach initiatives for women in the rural parts of the country. She brings this experience to KELIN with the aim of building the thematic area and advancing the land and property rights of women in Kenya and beyond.

They come at a time when KELIN is implementing its 2015-2019 Strategic Plan that, amongst other things, seeks to build a strong team and institution for the advancement of health and human rights in the country. Their passion and enthusiasm to grow in the sector is an added advantage to the team.”
