The KELIN fraternity is saddened by the death of Elder Chrisantus Omondi Amimo, one of the community elders in Homa Bay County. Elder Amimo passed unexpectedly on 27th of March 2018, at Kendu Bay mission hospital. He had been diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure in January 2018.
Elder Amimo passionately participated in KELIN programmes, advocating for the rights of widows, adolescent girls and young women in Rangwe Sub County.A retired senior superintendent Prisons Officer, he was the secretary of the Luo Council of Elders, Homa Bay County.
Prior to his demise, Elder Amimo reported how he had pursued an incest case in Rangwe, ensuring that the offender was arrested. We will always remember his intelligence, humility, and commitment to justice.
Elder Amimo is survived by a widow and 11 children. We share family’s grief. He will be buried on 20th April 2018 at his home in Gem, Rangwe Sub County, Homa Bay County. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
